Philosophy and Types of Treatment Used
-
Osteopathy, with its holistic approach to patient care has always appealed to me.
-
Consultations involve a detailed medical history and thorough physical assessment.
-
I tailor my Osteopathic treatments to the individual’s specific condition and needs.
-
My Osteopathic treatments involve a variety of techniques, such as:
-
Soft tissue massage
-
Muscle energy technique (muscle resistance)
-
Indirect techniques (myofascial release, balance ligamentous tension)
-
Manipulation
-
Osteopathy in the Cranial Field (OCF) – this is a gentle, yet powerful Osteopathic approach which uses a light hand contact on the body to restore balance and synchronization within the body and it’s systems
-
Another part of Osteopathic treatment occurs outside of the treatment room. Commonly, I prescribe specific exercises or recommend ergonomic advice for the home or office to further aid in alleviating any pain or discomfort, while reducing the incidence and frequency of the complaint.
-
As all of our bodies possess a very powerful self-healing mechanism, my role as an Osteopath is to return your body to its full capacity so it can function at its optimum level and manage every day stresses we place on our bodies.
