Trevor Armitage
Individual counsellor and group therapist

Philosophy and types of treatment used

Here & Now Therapy
Trevor’s approach to therapy incorporates a here and now focus, that is, he explores what is going on HERE in the room between the client and him, and NOW in the therapy session.

By creating a trusting relationship with clients, their problematic reactions and behaviours can emerge and their effects can be experienced and understood. In this environment the client can then experiment and practise new, more functional ways of relating.

Most commonly treated conditions

This approach is highly effective for all kinds of interpersonal / relationship difficulties. Lack of sustained satisfying relationships often underpins many clients’ reasons for seeking therapy. They can present in various ways, such as;
· Depression, lack of energy
· Anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia
· Isolation, loneliness
· Addictions eg, alcohol, drugs, eating sex, gambling, smoking, work.
· Destructive behaviours
· An underlying pervasive sense of dissatisfaction with life.
