Leonie Aitken
Medical Practitioner / counsellor / homoeopath.

Philosophy and types of treatment used.
Leonie enjoys seeing patients of all ages, dealing with your current problem(s) in the context of the bigger picture of your overall health and lifestyle, including physical, mental and emotional well-being.
Medical problems are approached with a comprehensive assessment, including performing investigations deemed suitable, with referral to specialists for further opinion when necessary. Treament includes a variety of prescription medicines, homoeopathy, dietary and lifestyle advice, or recommendations for modalities such as osteopathy or acupuncture. Leonie strives to develop a management plan to suit your needs and preferences.
Homoeopathy can provide exciting results for many acute and chronic illnesses. Leonie has had extensive experience in the use of this form of treatment, and can advise on the suitablity for each individual.
Counselling (individual and/or group) is a particular passion, as she enjoys working together with people to create desired changes in their lives. Leonie's approach to therapy is largely based on the work of Prof Irvin Yalom, (see <www.yalom.com>), reknowned psychiatrist and author, who has been a leader in the field for many decades. Leonie uses a variety of techniques in the sessions, depending on individual need, using the dynamics of the relationship between client and therapist to highlight and work on the client's issues.
